Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions of the Harrods Rewards Scheme

Set out below are the terms and conditions of the Harrods Rewards Scheme promoted and operated by Harrods Limited ("Harrods").

  1. Harrods Rewards (the "Scheme") is a loyalty scheme operated by Harrods under which customers ("Members") accumulate points ("Harrods Rewards Points") in respect of qualifying purchases made in the Harrods Store using their Harrods Rewards card ("Rewards Card"). These terms and conditions govern the collection and use of Harrods Rewards Points from its launch in September 2006 (the "Launch Date") until such time as the Scheme is determined, and set out the terms of the contract between Harrods and each Member.
  2. Members may accumulate Harrods Rewards Points on their Rewards Cards on Harrods qualifying purchases as follows: (a) one point for every £1 spent up to £4,999 in each calendar year; (b) two points for every £1 spent between £5,000 and £9,999 in each calendar year; and (c) three points for every £1 spent from £10,000 upwards in each calendar year. This is subject to the proviso that any increased points per £1 spent will take effect on the day after the purchase is made which takes a customer's expenditure into a higher threshold and the increased points will not apply retrospectively to the element of the previous day's purchases which are within that higher threshold. To earn Harrods Rewards Points in relation to purchases made, Members must present the Rewards Card at the time of payment. Harrods may offer bonus Harrods Rewards Points to Members in certain circumstances at its absolute discretion and any such bonus Harrods Rewards Points may be withdrawn by Harrods at any time.
  3. Harrods qualifying purchases are all purchases made (using any form of tender) in the Harrods Knightsbridge Store, Harrods 102, in Harrods UK airport shops, from Harrods catalogues and online from www.harrods.com, except for the following transactions: purchase of gift vouchers, gift cards, travellers cheques, foreign currency, theatre tickets, alterations, watch repairs, tobacco, property purchases (in particular from Harrods Estates), Harrods Car Park fees, and withdrawals, transactions and any other services in the Harrods Bank, purchases in Harrods Farmacia, purchases in the travel shop, or spending on banqueting facilities. Harrods may amend these exclusions at any time and, whenever reasonably possible, with notice to Members.
  4. The following terms shall apply to the accumulation of Harrods Rewards Points: (a) this Scheme shall apply to Harrods Rewards Points earned from the Launch Date and unredeemed Harrods Rewards Points earned under the previous scheme prior to the Launch Date; (b) under the Scheme, Members will, in February each year, have the cash equivalent of the Harrods Rewards Points earned during the previous calendar year (1st January to 31st December) credited onto their Rewards Card, with a value corresponding to £5 for each 500 Harrods Rewards points (the “Loyalty Gift”); (c) any remaining Harrods Rewards Points which have not been converted into Loyalty Gifts will be carried forward to the following February (save that such points will expire and be deleted where a customer does not use his/her Rewards card for a period of 24 months); (d) if a Member is given a refund or other financial adjustment on any transaction in Harrods, the Harrods Rewards Points awarded on the transaction will be adjusted accordingly; and (e) Harrods may elect not to convert Harrods Rewards Points earned in the period 18th to 31st January (inclusive) in a given calendar year into a Loyalty Gift until the following calendar year.
  5. The following terms shall apply to the redemption of Loyalty Gifts: (a) the Rewards Card credited with the Loyalty Gift may be redeemed in full or part payment on purchases in the Harrods Knightsbridge Store (subject from time to time to certain excluded departments); (b) Loyalty Gifts cannot be redeemed via telephone/mail order or via www.harrods.com; (c) the Loyalty Gift in a given year will be valid only until 31st May that year following which any remaining balance expires; (d) unused and/or expired Loyalty Gifts will not be re-converted to Harrods Rewards Points; (e) Loyalty Gifts may not be exchanged for cash; (f) any refund of an item purchased using a Loyalty Gift will be made in accordance with Harrods Returns Policy and will be credited onto the Rewards Card; and (g) where a Loyalty Gift is provided which corresponds to a purchase which is subsequently refunded, Harrods may, in its discretion, seek to cancel the Loyalty Gift (or recover the cost or value); and (h) Members, who are entitled to any-time points redemption or to select personal 10% days, must provide Harrods with at least 48 hours’ prior notice of their selected days.
  6. Members will also receive in-store benefits commensurate with their level of spend in a calendar year (1st January to 31st December), as follows: (a) tier 1 (£500 to £1,999); (b) tier 2 (£2,000 to £4,999); (c) tier 3 (£5,000 to £9,999); and (d) tier 4 (£10,000 plus) Each tier will correspond to a different coloured Rewards Card. Harrods will issue Members with updated Rewards Cards dependent on each Member's expenditure (and therefore the applicable tier) in a calendar year. Information relating to the Benefits (the "Benefits"), including 10% discount days, will be advised to Members from time to time and will be available in the Harrods store (subject to any further applicable terms, conditions and/or restrictions notified to members). Benefits will be provided subject to availability and such restrictions as may be set out in the Harrods Rewards Brochure from time to time.
  7. Harrods will provide regular account statements to active Members showing the Harrods Rewards Points balance. Members may also check their Harrods Rewards Points balance by contacting the Harrods Rewards Managers on +44 (0)20 7893 8408 or online at harrods.com/rewards.
  8. Harrods has the right to withdraw, cancel or change the terms of the Scheme at any time, and shall endeavour to provide written notice of such changes to members. Harrods will not be liable for any resulting loss or damage. A Member will be deemed to have accepted such change or variation if, after receiving notice of it, he or she uses a Rewards Card and/or continues to earn Harrods Rewards Points.
  9. Harrods may at any time refuse or revoke any Member’s membership of the Scheme in which case that Member’s Harrods Rewards Points will be forfeited and any unused Loyalty Gifts may be cancelled.
  10. Harrods will not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from the termination of or changes to the Scheme or from the cancellation or revocation of Harrods Rewards Points and/or membership of any Member.
  11. Members are personally liable for any and all costs, charges, claims or liabilities of whatever nature arising from their membership of the Scheme.
  12. Members are solely responsible for any tax liability which may arise and for any other fees charged by governmental or non-governmental agencies as a result of the Member’s participation in the Scheme.
  13. Members shall notify Harrods Rewards Services of any change of address or other personal details. Harrods is not responsible for any loss of a Rewards card or Loyalty Gift resulting from any failure of a Member to notify Harrods of such change.
  14. Harrods shall not be liable for any unauthorised use of any Member’s Rewards card ard and/or Loyalty Gift and Members are strongly advised to keep their Rewards cards safe and secure.
  15. Members will be responsible for any loss or theft of a Rewards card and should notify Harrods Rewards Services 87-135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7XL; by telephone on +44 (0)20 7893 8408; or by email on rewards@harrods.com.
  16. By participating in the Scheme, a Member consents to Harrods retaining the information provided to Harrods about the Member, including details of purchases made and the use of this information to offer the Member products and services that are likely to be of interest (including through Rewards magazine) and for Harrods market research purposes. If a Member has provided email and mobile phone details to Harrods, he/she may receive emails and SMS messages from Harrods about Harrods products and services. Each such email will contain an easy, automated way for Members to cease receiving emails from Harrods.
  17. If the Member indicates (which they may do on the application form) that he or she would like Harrods to, Harrods shall also occasionally pass the Member’s details to other companies in the Harrods Group as well as business associates or other carefully selected organisations for their own marketing purposes in connection with similar products and services. If Members wish to cease receiving marketing or market research communications from Harrods or would like Harrods to cease processing their information in any other way, they should write to Harrods Rewards Services (using the contact details set out in clause 15 above).
  18. If there is any difference between these terms and conditions and other information provided in relation to the Scheme, these terms and conditions will prevail.
  19. The above terms and conditions do not affect any statutory rights that a Member may have.
  20. The promoter of the Scheme and owner of each Rewards Card is Harrods Limited of 87-135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7XL (Registered in England with Registered No.30209).
