The house of Veuve Clicquot is among the most prestigious Champagne firms, with extensive vineyards, unparalleled for their size and quality, stretching throughout the top-rated areas of the region – many originally purchased by Madame Clicquot herself. Veuve Clicquot was also the first ever champagne house to make cuvées entirely from a single, exceptional year.
The Yelloboam's are a limited edition of 3,600 hand-blown Jeroboam's made to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label. Each leather labelled 3 litre bottle is sealed with 22.4ct gold foil cover and topped with a collectable 24ct gold-plated muzzle cap and accpanied by a matching leather-bound notepad. The champagne is Veuve Cliquot's signatures style presented in a lacquered wooden box.
Tasting Note: The dominance of Pinot Noir grapes gives the Yellow Label Brut Non Vintage its strong structure, whilst a touch of Pinot Meunier adds to its roundness, leaving Chardonnay to provide the finesse it needs for perfect balance. Assembled from about 50 crus and réserve wines which give it the inimitable Clicquot style, the use of réserve wines, stocked year by year, is one of the secrets of the Carte Jaune elaboration and universally appreciated by connoisseurs.
