Established in 1818 by Nicolas-François Billecart, Billecart-Salmon is one of the few Houses still owned by its founding family. Working some 30 hectares, Billecart-Salmon is supplied almost entirely by grapes from a radius of 20km around Epernay, where the greatest vineyards are concentrated. Meticulous production techniques, from the use of their own cultured yeast, to its long, slow fermentation, ensures that the family has total production control.
This exceptional humidor with a black teak exterior and cedar interior, comes with a key and two bottles of Billecart-Salmon's top cuvée.
Tasting Note: This exceptional cuvée was created in 1964 as a tribute to the House’s founder. It blends grands crus from the Côte des Blancs vineyards (Chardonnay) and the Montagne de Reims (Pinot Noir). Its vinification, partially in traditional casks, underpins the generous character of this fine, elegant and rich wine. The freshness of the cuvée is enhanced by its aromas of white flowers and brioche, and the balance between the richness and persistence is the hallmark of this accomplished Champagne.
