This is a superb example of white Bordeaux from the well-known Château Lagrange in St Julien. Founded in the mid 18th century, the property has carved out a substantial reputation for producing fantastic reds over the years, with the white being a relatively recent addition. Predominantly Sauvignon Blanc, abetted by Sémillon and small quantities of Muscadelle, the wines are made in a clean, modern fashion with half an eye on tradition.
Tasting Note: Enticing floral aromatics of citrus, elderflower, grass and honey, alongside deftly-handled vanilla oak. The palate is intense and fresh, with a lovely core of acidity running directly through it, accentuated by subtle creamy textural hints.
