Antonio Sanchez, the chief winemaker at the Toro Albalá winery creates wines of staggering quality. Solely made with the Pedro Ximenez grape (PX), these wines are a pure expression of the philosophy at Toro Albalá: “The pursuit of quality is the main and only rule”.
Tasting Note:
Produced from a special selection of PX grapes which are harvested in the open air ‘La Capacheta’ style, this 1979 vintage is dark amber and emits multiple aromas with no need for the swirl. Layers of crème de cacao, liquorice, tobacco and molasses intermingle, as sweet spice notes of cinnamon and vanilla emanate from the glass. In the mouth, Don PX is elegant and round with persistently bitter-sweet flavours.
