Madame Bollinger famously quoted “I drink champagne when I'm happy, and when I'm sad. Sometimes, I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company, I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I'm not hungry, and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it, unless I'm thirsty.”
Bollinger was established in 1829 by Jacques Bollinger and Paul Renaudin. Over the years their prime vineyard holdings have been steadily increased with the largest expansion taking place under the stewardship of the legendary Madame Lily Bollinger.
Tasting Note: Bollinger has a reputation for producing muscular wines with body, depth and power. A plethora of wild red fruit aromas is followed by toast on the nose. The palate offers a stunning complexity of these notes allied with a snug acidity structure and a luxurious long length.
