Charles Heidsieck is a relatively small company compared to the other great winemakers of Champagne. One of the first to introduce his Champagnes to America, the innovative Charles-Camille Heidsieck was also one of the first to use machine-made bottles that didn’t explode during the maturation process. He recognized the value of patiently ageing vintages, so he purchased crayères, or chalk cellars, to shelter his bottles from the effects of climate variations.
Tasting Note: A strong floral aroma mingles with hints of cocoa, honey and figs. The palate reveals rich notes of dried crystallised fruits, liquorice and pineapple. The finish is warm and delicate, with a creamy hint of patisserie.
