Charles Mock is both owner and winemaker of this excellent property in La Clape. He bought the property in 1983 and has since built a fine reputation for making wines of great character and typicity. The property commands some 63 hectares of vineyard and focuses on producing excellent red wines, although the whites and rosés are of equal quality.
Tasting Note: Oak-laced red fruits can be discerned in the aromas of this powerful Maelma. Medium bodied, with a smooth satin-like texture, this Syrah dominated wine is layered with juicy, smoky black cherries, raspberries and blackberries. With outstanding concentration, balance and length, the Maelma will peak in the next eight years – this is definitely one to save.
