Situated in the sunny Languedoc region known as La Clape, Chateau de la Negly presides over 25 hectares under vine. Together, owner Jean Paul-Rosset, Cyril Chamontin and the talented oenologist Claude Gros, produce fine elegant wines. Yields have been lowered, new fermenting equipment installed and new barrels have been bought, all of which have elevated the property to new levels of quality and expertise.
Tasting Note: A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, this wine is so deeply coloured it is almost black. The Falaise opens to display rich red berry aromas with smoke and pepper tones and is lovely on the palate. Concentrated with ripe fruit characters, grippy tannins and a fine acidity, this 2006 is a fascinating wine with much to offer.
