The Dampierre family were there at the very beginning when the first sparkling wine was discovered in the 17th Century. However, over the centuries the family lost their association with Champagne until the Comte’s great grandfather re-established the label in 1880. Today, Comte Audouin’s Champagnes have reached cult status among the bubbly cognoscenti, and the Dampierre name is found in the world’s most exclusive restaurants, as well as French presidential, ministerial and ambassadorial residences.
The dapper Comte Audouin de Dampierre has a classic car collection to rival his portfolio of quality Champagnes and oversees the blending and maturing of this small but exceptional Champagne House.
