Devaux is the brand bought and developed by the Union Auboise. It is a dynamic enterprise located in the southern part of Champagne and one of the biggest vineyard holders in the region, with 1,450 hectares of vineyard in the Aube and the Côte des Blancs. Devaux’s control over
its grape supply is a rarity in Champagne, whereby contracts held with a number of top houses in Champagne allows the company to reserve the best grapes.
The Devaux style is dictated by its location, as Pinot Noir is the main grape variety planted in the Aube. The wines possess a lovely Pinot Noir richness on the nose and a long finish, yet offer finesse, freshness and liveliness from the finest Chardonnay rich soils of the Côte des Blancs. The dosage is low due to the high quality of the fruit.
Tasting Note: The wine has a persistent mousse of very fine bubbles, and a nutty, toasty, caramel character. The Pinot Noir gives body and length to the wine, offering red fruit notes and peach, while the Chardonnay adds elegance and finesse.
