In 1925, husband and wife duo Edoardo and Adele Fendi founded a small handbag and fur shop in Rome’s Via del Plebiscito. Throughout the 1930s and ‘40s, Fendi products became renowned outside the capital and in the 1950s the five daughters of Edoardo and Adele took over the family business. Today, the luxury design house is helmed by Silvia Venturini Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld, a partnership that has propelled the Italian label to become a luxury fashion brand on an international level. The latest addition to the Fendi repertoire comes in the form of Fendirumi duo, Piro-chan and Bug-kun. Autumn/Winter 2016 fashion show-goers rushed to have their photos taken with the mascots, which are life-size versions of the fashion house’s latest bag bugs, now available to buy online and in-store at Harrods.- less
