Levi's story begins in 1853, when Levi Strauss travelled from Buttenheim, Germany, to San Francisco, California to open a west coast branch of his brother's New York dry goods business. In the 1870s, the company created a practical pair of denim overalls and later, in the 1920s, the very first pair of jeans. Today, Levi's continues to offer love-forever jeans, now available in a myriad of washes and cuts to suit every shape and taste.
