Martell
The Martell Cognac house was founded by Jean Martell in 1715, who immersed himself in the arts of distillation, blending and ageing in oak barrels, insisting upon monitoring and controlling every step of the cognac-making process himself. In 1721, as his fledgling young brand was first embraced by the country's most discerning connoisseurs, Martell proudly declared, "Our eaux-de-vie are the finest in the kingdom." To this day, the Martell House continues to be regarded as the producer of some of the most elegant, complex and rich cognacs worldwide.
