    Visit the Harrods Christmas Grotto and explore Father Christmas’ wonderful toy workshop. Meander down a Dickensian street with shop windows featuring Peter Pumpernickel, Poppy Peasprout and friends and take part in activities including a Naughty-or-Nice machine and a giant Magic Piano, before making your way through to meet Father Christmas himself. This year, the Grotto will include the new Disney Christmas Café, which anyone is welcome to visit.

    The first Harrods Grotto 1986

    Father Christmas' Grotto didn't appear in Harrods until 1986, where it was themed as an impressive Medieval castle, but his earliest known appearance at Harrods took place in-store in 1908.

    In December 1938, the then Princess Elizabeth visited Father Christmas with her sister, the late Princess Margaret, and their mother, the late Queen Elizabeth, during a Harrods shopping trip.
