HARRODS EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT

  • 1. Through membership of Harrods Rewards ("the Scheme"), staff cardholders ("Members") may, in addition to the benefits set out at Harrods.com/employeerewards, be eligible to receive an employee discount (the "Employee Discount"). Eligibility for the Employee Discount shall be at Harrods' discretion and may be reviewed, amended or withdrawn at any time by Harrods without prior notice.
  • 2. If a Member is eligible for an Employee Discount, it is a condition of this privilege being extended to that Member that he/she agrees to abide by the rules set out below and the terms of any other applicable rules published by Harrods from time to time.
  • 3.Different levels of Employee Discount apply and the level available to a Member shall be determined by Harrods. An eligible Member wishing to take advantage of his/her Employee Discount must present the Rewards Card at the till at the time of making a purchase. No Employee Discounts are available on purchases made via the telephone, via mail order or at Harrods Direct.
  • 4. Each year Harrods will set each eligible Member an Employee Discount ceiling which is the maximum discount which that Employee may spend in the applicable year (each year runs from February to the following January) at the full applicable discount level (the "Employee Discount Ceiling"). Once a Member's Employee Discount Ceiling is reached, the Employee Discount for that Member will be reduced to 20% for the remainder of the applicable year.
  • 5. The Employee Discount (and these terms and conditions) will also apply to a Member's spouse or civil partner who is issued with a Rewards Card upon that Member’s presentation of a valid marriage or civil partnership certificate (a "Partner"). A Partner's spending will contribute to that Member's Employee Discount Ceiling. It is the Member's obligation to ensure that his/her Partner is aware of and complies with these terms and conditions. A Member will be liable for any failure by his/her Partner to comply with them.
  • 6. Any abuse of the Employee Discount will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter and may lead to the termination of a Member’s employment (if he/she is a Harrods Group employee) or the loss of store approval (if he/she is a concession employee). Where theft or fraud is suspected, the Member may be referred to the police. Harrods reserves the right to take legal action to recover any losses suffered.
  • 7. Members may only use the Employee Discount on the days, in the locations or departments and in the manner permitted by Harrods (an up-to-date list of participating departments and other current rules are available from Harrods HR Services). Further details and/or changes in relation to the Employee Discount may be notified to Members from time to time by way of letter, announcement or publication in the Staff Bulletin and/or Harrods Manuals. All Members and their Partners must observe the following key rules:
  • (a)   they may only use their Employee Discount on purchases made by and for themselves (or for their spouse or civil partner or children aged under 18, or where the purchased item is a legitimate gift);
  • (b)   purchases must be made using their own credit or debit card and upon production of Harrods ID or some other ID if required;
  • (c)   they are not permitted to use their Employee Discount to make purchases for friends, other family members or third parties, nor to make purchases with the intention of selling the items on (at a profit or otherwise);
  • (d)   they are not permitted to make any purchases whatsoever from the Harrods store on the first day and the first Saturday of any Harrods Sale;
  • (e)   they are not permitted to process their own sales or sales for a Partner, friend, or family member;
  • (f)   they will not receive an Employee Discount unless they present their Rewards Card at the time of purchase;
  • (g)   If they exceed their Employee Discount Ceiling or misuse their Rewards Card, Harrods has the right to recover any money or monetary value owed to Harrods and may make deductions accordingly from any money owed by Harrods, whether salary or otherwise.

  • 9. On leaving employment at Harrods, Members (and Partners) will (unless specifically notified to the contrary) cease to be eligible for the Employee Discount. They will however retain their Rewards Card and will enter the Customer Rewards Scheme at the tier corresponding to the tier reached upon leaving Harrods by the departing Members (and will thereafter be subject to the terms and conditions set out in the 'terms and conditions' section of harrods.com/rewards).
