THE SHOW: Rather unusually for a designer so well loved for her dresses, it was Jenny Packham's coats this season that proved to be the triumph of the collection. Of course, the dresses were exquisite, with a palette inspired by the salons of 17th Century Paris - think peachy opals, duck egg, cinnamon and the odd dash of scarlet in rich, heavy satin topped with frothy chiffon. But it was a white, loose cut, heavily embellished swing coat over a floor length gown that really stood out from the crowd. Satin Louboutin courts in peach and sage added a modern edge - further proof, if needed, that platforms really are over when it comes to eveningwear this season.
