THE SHOW: Inspired by "the city that never sleeps", Michelle Smith's AW13 collection was jostling with all the sparkle of a New York night. But think Downtown not Times Square - head-to-toe metallics were pared down with long oversized overcoats to temper the glitz. Plenty of matching trouser and sweater combinations were present, with Smith claiming them as "the new suit". Shorts were a rare sighting on the Fall catwalk, but worked well, especially matching under a Kandinsky-esque print dress with cute leather sleeves. Leather skirts in bright silver and black are also guaranteed to do well alongside eye-watering Yves Klein blue outerwear.
