THE SHOW: Framed by a William Morris-esque backdrop, we expected a decadent show and a decadent show we got. Burch's collections often take inspiration from the art world and Lalique and Gustav Klimt provided the gemstone palette of rich emerald, bug blue, gold and of course, black. Accessories are always key at Tory Burch - intricate insects daubed chains around necks courtesy of British stylist-turned-designer Tabitha Simmons and we particularly loved a pair of iridescent pony skin mules. Eveningwear was kept to a minimum, although the collection focused on layering for day, with plenty of soft jersey polos under cocktail dresses that could easily transform for night. This was a beautiful collection from a designer who has injected personality into the polished uptown look.

WHO WE SAW: You know you've got staying power when all the biggest editors in the world turn up for a 9am show.

WHAT THEY WORE: Cute print dresses and plenty of embellished footwear in the front row.
