- Tasting Note:
The nose is very subtle, slowly releasing hints of baked pears, ginger. After a few swirls the bouquet opens up and releases aromas of orange peel, and cinnamon. The palate is restrained and elegant, very much like a fine cognac, the alcohol is beautifully integrated and is balanced by flavours of toffee, oak, and vanilla. The silky finish is long and as it eventually fades leaves you with chocolatey notes.

Widely considered the finest rum producer in the world, Jamaica’s Appleton Estate has a long history of excellence, having distilled the spirit since 1749. None of this intimidates master blender Joy Spence, however. Spence was the first woman in history to hold the title of Master Blender in the distilled spirits industry, and since 1981 has been crafting blends that continue to win award after award.
For this the oldest commercially available rum, each rum is individually aged for 8 years before being blended and placed again in oak barrels where they rest for another 22 years. The result of this unique dual ageing process is an exceptional spirit that is unmatched the world over for its taste, character and smoothness. Only 1,440 bottles of this very rare 30 Year Old Rum were handcrafted by Joy Spence, Master Blender.
