Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Magnum and Anemone Vase
£1,545.00 Product Code 2341093
Perrier-Jouët has released its Belle Epoque 1998 magnum, presented in a limited-edition silver-plated filigree vase designed by renowned silversmith Christofle. This limited-edition piece portrays a contemporary interpretation of the anemones on the Belle Epoque bottle designed by Emile Gallé – a leading light of the Art Nouveau movement. Only 150 numbered vases have been created and each one is hand worked – the delicate purity of its lines echoes the hallmark finesse and elegance of the cuvée Belle Epoque, with its grand cru chardonnay wines from the Côte des Blancs.

In 1902 Henri Gallice, the head of Champagne Perrier Jouët, asked the great Art Nouveau glass designer Émile Gallé to create a special magnum bottle for his Champagne. Gallé produced four exquisite hand-enamelled magnums, inlaid with arabesques of anemones. However, they were stored in the cellar and forgotten for nearly sixty years. In 1964, the magnums were re-discovered by Cellar Master André Baveret, who created a special prestige cuvée to be released in this spectacular bottle under the name La Belle Epoque.
