One of Chateauneuf du Pape's greatest estates, Château de Beaucastel is located in the northern limits of the appellation and was established in 1549 by the Beaucastel family. At Beaucastel they still use all thirteen grape varieties authorised in the Chateauneuf du Pape Appellation and large round 'galet' stones which are iconic of the region cover the vineyards. The Perrin & Fils label denotes their second tier of wines, which offer consistently great value, whilst their top wines are labelled under Chateau de Beaucastel. Today the estate is run by Jean Pierre and François Perrin, however Marc, Pierre, Thomas and Matthieu, who represent the fifth generation of the Perrin family, are ready to pursue this fabulous family history.
