Backstage Beauty: Marios Schwab AW14
There was no beauty reference backstage at Marios Schwab, where the girls were treated like “individuals not clones”. Make-up Artist Val Garland created an invisible make-up look that ensured “the girls look like they are in the real world, not on a catwalk." A little shine was applied to eyelids, with fresh skin and pencilled-in eyebrows (where needed) for a groomed finish.
This natural look was echoed in Sam McKnight’s dishevelled, dry-textured ponytails. “We don’t want them to look like they’ve been with a hair dresser," he explained. Dry shampoo was used to get rid of oil and grease before straighteners were run over the lengths to add a dose of bend and body.
