5 Minutes With Angela Missoni
Known for its unique and innovative style, Missoni has firmly established itself as a leader in the fashion world. The bold and quirky brand now adds to its repertoire with a striking new fragrance for women, available exclusively at Harrods. We spoke to Angela Missoni, Creative Director of Missoni, to find out more about this beautifully feminine perfume.
Missoni is known as a fashion powerhouse, what drew you into the world of fragrance?
Launching a new fragrance was for me an act of complicity to all women who choose Missoni for their style and daily routine.
What was your vision behind the fragrance?
Although it seems utopic, I thought of a woody, fruity, floral juice, which starts out with a trio of Italian citrus, petalia and jasmine sambac, dried down with tonka bean, sandalwood and ambroxan. This combination created exactly the scent I had in mind.
How involved were you in the creation process?
I found an excellent partner, Euroitalia, with which to establish a fruitful partnership. I have been working in person on how to best develop a fragrance concept that transfers as much as possible of the brand's DNA, its identity, its elegance, taste and sophistication.
The new fragrance is beautifully bottled, how important do you think packaging and design is when it comes to fragrance?
I thought of a unique bottle, made of glass in shades of purple, fuchsia and green that combine to create a precious, soft, contemporary and timeless design together, just the unmistakable Missoni.
Did you have a particular woman in mind when creating the scent?
I wanted to create a fragrance dedicated to a sensual and exuberant woman. A confident woman, who wears this fragrance as a dress that glides on the body, enhancing her vitality and charm. It’s a way of relating to all women who choose Missoni for their style and everyday lives.
If you could describe the perfume in just three words, what would they be?
Sensual, unconventional and international.
