Easy SS15 Hair Updates

Change doesn’t need to be dramatic. Taking inspiration from the A-list, we’ve compiled five subtle hair updates that will instantly freshen-up your look.

Go shorter
Lily Collins demonstrates that losing just a few inches can be transformative with this sweet, blunt bob. If you’re teetering at shoulder-length, take the lead from Hollywood and go for the chop – short hair is proving to be the hair style of 2015 so far…

Cut a fringe
Want a haircut but don’t want to sacrifice length? Cutting in bangs is a simple way to change your style and the ‘70s should be your inspiration. Make like Alexa with a long, fine fringe that can be parted to the side or brushed straight.

Two- tone darker
You may not have noticed that Cara’s changed her hair colour, but when these two pictures from September and December are laid side by side, there’s a clear shade variation. If you want to darken your hair, don’t be tempted by dramatic difference – just two or three tones will still make an impact and keep your look chic.

Try balayage
Perfect for spring and summer, balayage is a free-hand highlighting technique that produces natural sun-kissed colour. It works beautifully on dark and light hair, and as the colour is concentrated at the tips, the regrowth is very low maintenance. Jessica Alba is your go-to for endless balayage inspiration.

Add a tint
Now is the time to resurface those childhood daydreams of pink hair, as pastel tints are ruling Tinseltown. Kate Hudson and Sienna Miller are poster girls for this tempting hue, which works beautifully to add a rosy sheen to platinum blonde shades. Even better, it only lasts a few washes before fading out – maximum impact, zero commitment.
