Matthew Williamson sent a parade of Studio 54-worthy dresses out on his Autumn/Winter runway...
"Reimagining the optimism and high glamour of the 1970s brought our vision to life."
"Reimagining the optimism and high glamour of the 1970s brought our vision to life," Matthew Williamson revealed ahead of his AW14 show. Glamorous it was in spades, from the celebrity-studded front row (Olivia Palermo, Poppy Delevingne, Coco Rocha, Amber Le Bon, Cat Deeley and Leigh Lezark) to the sequined cocktail dresses that shimmered down the runway. Prints, a Williamson signature, came in the shape of daisies on fuchsia and cobalt shifts and shooting stars on gauzy maxi dresses. The collection also excelled in texture - beaded florals appeared on cocktail coats while marabou feathers adorned a spaghetti-strap slip dress worn with studded boots for added edge. Furs dyed magenta and green were the ultimate Seventies-chic throwback.
Who we saw: Olivia Palermo.
What they wore: Ripped jeans and a printed top.
In three words: Studio 64 Revival.
