Texture, tweeds and tuxes, MaxMara styled new directions for Autumn/Winter 2014
MaxMara married the tradition of the Scottish Highlands with the cosmopolitan edge of Milan by fusing tweeds, Prince of Wales checks and herringbones with high-shine PVC and quilting. The outerwear, as always, stole the limelight with tweed cocoon coats in earth tones of moss, bark and heather topping metallic blouses and slim pencil skirts panelled in herringbone and gold lamé. The ubiquitous camel coat came over a glossy vinyl dress while more casual puffa waistcoats made from quilted tweed were edged in fur. For evening, the traditional tuxedo was re-worked with high-shine PVC lapels.
