Alberta Ferretti AW15
With a backdrop of a forest that changed lighting from dawn to day to dusk, Alberta Ferretti presented her Autumn/Winter collection. Inspired by Renaissance paintings, the collection looked like a Grimms’ Fairy Tale come to life. Folksy floor-grazing dresses came with ruff necks and lace edging, cocktail numbers boasted romantic ruffles and floral appliqués, while outerwear took on the cape shape, sometimes edged in fur, sometimes with hoods, for a Red Riding Hood look. Brocade was used liberally on coats, trousers, A-line dresses and even knee-high boots and velvet made embroidered suits and Bohemian dresses evening-ready. The dominant colours were black, white, red and gold for a classic, timeless palette.
Who we saw: Grazia's Executive Fashion Director, Charlie Miller.
What they wore: Leather trews and lace-up sandals.
In a nutshell: Red Riding Hood goes glam.
