The Balmain woman likes a good time and, for her, there were plenty of disco-ready dresses in the French powerhouse's Autumn/Winter 2015 collection. Victoria’s Secret models, including Alessandra Ambrosio who opened the show, put on a leggy display in thigh-skimming hemlines flanked by sheer denier tights. When pins weren’t on show, they were shrouded in high-shimmer kick-flares and micro-pleated floor-length skirts. When it came to tops, polo necks, lurex-fringed tops and sheer lace bodysuits were anchored by wide waist belts and layered with signature strong-shouldered blazers and wrap coats. Olivier Rousteing may have referenced the 1970s in his show notes, but the glamour levels were definitely sourced from the ‘80s. With colours popping in violet, mustard, teal, orange and black, this was a wholly confident and powerful display by the Balmain army.
