BCBGMAXAZRIA proved the ‘70s Revival is here to stay, taking SS15’s homage to the decade through to AW15. Offering a more pared-back alternative to the era of disco glamour, the key was in the layering. By day, the BCBGMAXAZRIA girl was characterised by chunky knit sweaters with wispy hair tucked into roll neck snoods, quilted silk culottes and statement fur booties. By night, hemlines rose higher with fringed mini skirts and whip-stitched tunic dresses showcasing a hint of skin between over-the-knee boots. On top, models wore oversized coatigans with captivating tapestry details and plush fur accents, while leather in autumnal shades of ochre and marsala, Pantone’s colour of the year, completed the outerwear line-up.
Who we saw: Man Repeller blogger, Leandra Medine, and model, Coco Rocha.
What they wore: Statement-making emerald green culottes for Medine and layered leather and shearling over Rocha’s burgeoning baby bump.
In a nutshell: The ‘70s are here to stay.
