Chloé designer Clare Waight Keller dedicated her show to International Women's Day and what better an era to look back on than the Seventies for a little empowerment? The designer picked up where she left off in SS15 with free-flowing gowns and wide-leg trousers updated in a darker palette and wintry fabrics. Lace-trimmed poet blouses were layered under shrunken waistcoats for the ultimate girl-meets-boy effect while peacoats with brass buttons and military-style frogging topped wide-leg trousers. Romantic tiered column gowns in silk crepe were cinched at the waist with cotton cord and velvet maxi skirts came decorated with floral jacquards for an opulence not normally associated with the fashion house. The new bag of the season, the Hudson, is a diminutive shoulder bag embellished with suede tassels or python patchwork while booties featured ribbon laces, block heels and almond-shaped toes.
Who we saw: Singer Lorde and Olivia Palermo.
What they wore: A white silk blouse and navy trousers for Lorde and a sunny yellow coat and jeans for Olivia.
In a nutshell: Romantic yet powerful.
