Diane von Furstenberg AW15
The designer gave us a lesson in the art of seduction at her latest catwalk unveiling, presenting two sides of a woman: the professional woman by day in her structured tailoring and the romantic temptress by night with her lashings of lace. Often, both sides were present in one look: the pinstripe power suit layered over a floral chiffon blouse or the prim coat topping a plunging dress. Wrap dresses, as ever, were aplenty, led by Kendall Jenner’s opening cream number with black satin belt and later appearing in flirty floral motifs. For after-hours, a cut-away romper and tuxedo jacket offered a fresh alternative to the gown. A word about stockings: the show was inspired by a printed pair worn by Diane to Studio 54 and practically every look was accompanied by sheer 10 deniers – a sure sign that it’s time to ditch the opaques once and for all.
Who we saw: Consummate DVF fan, Olivia Palermo.
What they wore: A chunky white rollneck topped off with a multi-print coat.
In a nutshell: Bringing sexy back.
