Dolce & Gabbana AW15
Self-proclaimed "Mamma’s boys" Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana celebrated motherhood in a show that brought tears to many a fashion editor's eye from the minute the curtain went up to reveal a stage set of models holding their own children. To the tune of the Spice Girls' Mama, a pregnant Bianca Balti took to the runway, sporting a nude shift dress that hugged her mum-to-be curves in all the right places. Models clad in tailored midi dresses emblazoned with roses and messages of love emerged, many accompanied by toddlers in perfectly coordinating Mini-Me styles. A-line mini dresses in soft pastel shades boasted prim collars and bracelet sleeves and princess coats came in shades of blush with matching frame Sicily handbags. No one does a lace frock better than the design duo - this season's offerings came in pure white, nude, crimson or black with blooming red rose appliqués. It was a line-up that will resonate with women everywhere, whether they are mothers or not, due to its femininity and simple beauty.
