Elie Saab AW15
With the show venue transformed into a shadowy moonlit forest, designer Elie Saab paraded the perfect autumnal line-up, from tweed coats to gowns the colours of foliage. Silhouettes began structured, with military-style jackets in tweed, complete with high stand-up collars and gilded buttons. The murky hues and stiff shapes of the tailoring soon evolved into mossy-toned flowing dresses, some short, others ankle-grazing, boasting embroidered leaves and lace shaped into sprigs. Outerwear came oversized and cocoon-shaped with fur-lined hoods. As always, the gowns stole the show. In shades of pine and peacock blue, they were slashed to the thigh and embroidered with jewels for an ethereal yet sensual look.
Who we saw: The Blonde Salad blogger, Chiara Ferragni.
What they wore: Printed overalls over a clashing printed blouse.
In a nutshell: Princess gowns in autumnal shades.
