Monique Lhuillier AW15
Kate Moss may seem an unlikely muse for Monique Lhuillier, the designer who is best known for her bridal couture and frothy red carpet creations. However, the slinky bias cut dresses in teal, amethyst and sapphire silk that she sent down her Autumn/Winter 2015 catwalk were a fitting homage to the British megastar. When twinned with shearling jackets, star-embroidered slips and crystal-studded tights, it made for a '70s glam rock showcase. This was, in fact, a very sophisticated collection from Lhuillier. Take the opening guipure lace dresses with their lean, pencil shapes that were a far cry from the full-skirted silhouettes of seasons past. The series of gowns that closed the show saw the designer at her best. Sensual cut-outs and dense beading ensure that these pieces will be paraded down a red carpet soon.
Who we saw: Actresses Brittany Snow and Kelly Rutherford.
What they wore: Brittany wore a fitting tulle dress while Kelly covered up in a navy knit.
In a nutshell: Sophisti-Kate-d '70s.
