Paul Smith AW15
There's something about autumn that makes you want to throw on a suit and next season, the Paul Smith woman will have plenty to choose from. In a palette of khaki, charcoal and black with the odd pop of bright colour, tailoring consisted of double-breasted jackets teamed with pencil skirts with off-centre slits or shrunken jackets paired with wide-leg trousers (for the record, there wasn't a skinny in sight). Outerwear was ultra-desirable, especially given the day's torrentially-icy downpour: sheepskin jackets topped chunky roll necks and culottes, tailored coats were stamped with geometric checks and roomy dusters came with oversized envelope pockets and enamel buttons. A strong collection from one of Britain's iconic designers.
Who we saw: Vogue's Alexandra Shulman.
What they wore: A neat pencil skirt and brown knee-high boots.
In a nutshell: Invest in a wide-leg suit.
