Roland Mouret AW15
Roland Mouret struck a delicate balance between his signature hourglass silhouettes and the austerity of cold weather dressing. Inspired by the rich, storytelling tradition of nomadic cultures, geometric patchwork quilting and rich fabrics in a palette of khaki and burgundy paved the way for a collection of wearable separates and dresses that speak to both practicality and style. Viewing layers of clothing as modern armour against the elements, fit-and-flare dresses, box-pleated A-line skirts and cropped jackets were toughened up with exposed zips, D-rings and leather details. Subtle swinging hemlines and flowing capes, however, maintained the brand’s sensitivity to the female form.
