Sophia Webster AW15
Though billed as a presentation, Sophia Webster managed to put on a show this London Fashion Week. In fact, she brought the circus to town. Her ‘Freak Like Me’ collection was shown in a disused club in the rather apt Piccadilly Circus. Models and contortionists showcased Webster’s wares with a clown-like vibe. The mind-bending prints and engineered shoe patterns on display were inspired by a mix of Gwen Stefani in her early No Doubt days and artist Victor Vasarely’s optical illusions. Knee-high boots, disco pumps and shoe boots were decorated with a heady mix of colourful feathers, ringmaster leopard print and warped check and tartan. Her signature sassy slogans reappeared on shoes and speech bubble bags while the iconic Coca-Cola logo was reimagined as a new print on several shaped heels. At once unsettling and exciting, this was a whirlwind tour of the weird and wonderful world of Sophia Webster.
Who we saw: TV personality, Whitney Port and singer, Pixie Lott.
What they wore: Whitney covered up in a smart navy coat while Pixie wore a distressed denim dress.
In a nutshell: Unconventional circus chic.
