Stella McCartney AW15
In her latest catwalk collection the designer reworked classic pieces in a bid to make them more sensual. To that effect, masculine tailoring in shades of heather grey and olive was sculpted close to the body, knitwear turned bodycon and eveningwear fell off the shoulder to reveal an unexpected flash of skin. The key emphasis was on the waist with corset-like detailing appearing on paperbag trousers and moulded bustiers layered over ribbed sweaters. When sweaters were oversized they were one-armed or cut asymmetrically to slope off the body. Outerwear came in the shape of enormous winter white and black fluffy faux fur coats featuring oversize scribbles and floral patches. For evening Stella proposed chic, off-the-shoulder dresses with fitted waists worn with rigid twisted pearl necklaces.
Who we saw: Sir Paul McCartney, Cara Delevingne and Anna Wintour.
What they wore: A slim three-piece suit, oversized suiting with a striped bandeau top, and a tonal leather trench coat, respectively.
In a nutshell: Femininity redefined.
