Fashion playing sports is nothing new but Carven designer Guillaume Henry was aiming for serious speed with his spring/summer collection for the fashion house he single-handedly helped revive just a few years ago. Inspired by Formula One, Sixties-shaped frocks came emblazoned with bold stripes, making them look almost uniform-like. A-line minis were topped with glossy snake print coats and were worn with multi-strap ballet flats. Meanwhile, Japanese writing and Edo illustrations gave edge to little lace dresses or featured as panels on belted coats. For the very brave, Henry offered up knee-length cycling shorts, which, while not made out of stretchy fabric, will still require perfect pins thanks to their narrow, razor-sharp tailoring.
