Christian Dior SS15

"Raf Simons' SS15 show was his strongest yet. Split between beautiful romantic nightwear and punchy coloured outfits more along the lines of what we have seen thus far, it was a stunning dichotomy of two different girls."

Helen David, Harrods Fashion Director of Womenswear

Fashion shows are becoming more theatrical and elaborate with each passing season but Raf Simons topped them all with the venue for his Spring/Summer show. The Louvre's Cour Carree was transformed into a 3D mirror so that the show tent was entirely invisible and only the reflection of the ancient and legendary museum could be seen. And it only got better from there. Continuing to play on the 'past is future' concept, fashion's wunderkind fused 18th Century French Royal court shapes with modern-day fabrics to spectacular effect. Dresses with exaggerated hourglass shapes came in crisp, fresh white cotton and were teamed with printed stocking boots. Meanwhile, high necklines were adorned in chains or lace and the sleeves or bottoms of trousers boasted floral chintz prints. The ultimate retro-modern mash-up came in the way of bright satin waistcoats paired with slouchy Bermuda shorts.

Who we saw: Miroslava Duma and Olivia Palermo

What they wore: An electric blue coat and black sandals, and a belted coat with statement sandals, respectively

In a nutshell: The past is our future
