"Tech meets ethnic" was how Donna Karan described her DKNY SS15 collection. Using New York as her perennial source of inspiration the designer mixed colours and prints without rules, clashing poppy red, sky blue and mint green and mashing them up with ikat prints, bold beading, raffia fringe and mirrored paillettes. The silhouette was either fit-and-flare, as evidenced in a blazing red backless dress, or long louche, with elasticated tube skirts overlaid with droopy peplums and slope-shoulder sweaters. Trend followers take note: thick stripes and tube skirts are already emerging as SS15 mainstays.
