J. Mendel SS15
Drawing inspiration from Enoc Perez’s infamous architectural paintings, J. Mendel’s SS15 runway was an array of clean lines, geometric shapes and a burst of colour. With texture and collage as a focus, Perez’s iconic multi-windowed buildings were replicated and reworked through folded pleats, patchwork and printed jacquard. Highlighting expert craftsmanship, key pieces included party dresses, cigarette trousers and fur coats - all infused with luxe fabrics, bold contrast and layered techniques. For an ultra-ladylike touch, the evening silhouette played on the notion of light and transparency, embracing a fluid and billowing maxi length mixed with sheer organza. To finish, a sleek palette of monochrome was injected with flashes of lime green, yellow, blue, pink and red for a bold take on modern elegance.
