Louis Vuitton SS15
Show goers were transported to planet Louis Vuitton, or so it would seem, as the brand’s SS15 show took place in the new Louis Vuitton Foundation - a Frank Gehry-designed spaceship of a building in curvaceous glass and steel. Yet, despite the futuristic feel of the show space, the clothes themselves were a resurgence of 1970s America; high-necked, crocheted, cotton knits, A-line skirts in striped eel skin and tapestry-printed velvet biker jackets and flares. For evening, sequined zip-front dresses were partnered with patterned tights while bootcut jeans and indigo-coloured outerwear completed the desirably wearable line-up. Nicholas Ghesquière has well and truly arrived at Louis Vuitton and is steering it into a new future.
