The delights of an English country garden provided a bucolic backdrop for the Mulberry SS15 presentation as vast vases of white and cornflower blue flowers filled the room. And while of course florals were key for the new season line, there was a clear focus on specific blooms in modern incarnations, with the oh-so pretty delphinium re-imagined in monochromatic designs on printed silk and lace, the cornflower featuring in oversized prints on silken knits and the cow parsley embroidered in miniature jacquard. Taking the sugared edge off the floral trend, came laser-cut leather pieces, utilitarian style practical pockets and detailing, also translating through to footwear with sandals inspired by classic gardening clogs and wellies with rich jacquard panels.
And the new accessory everyone will be working for SS15? The ingenious reversible Delphie Duo Bag - a beautiful structured silhouette in woven leather which can be flipped over to reveal a contrasting leather and colour for a totally different look.
