Stella McCartney SS15
Stella McCartney's woman is always a practical dresser, but in a supremely glossy way, and this season's utilitarian-meets-girl-next-door look was the ultimate expression of this. Opening with a white cotton twill shirt tucked into a pair of wide-leg sailor trousers, there was an instant sense of effortlessness to the collection. Culottes and chemises were paired with silver-heeled wedges that laced up the leg. Denim dresses and tunics boasted oversize buckles and cut-outs on sides or hems while ribbed knits in shades of buttercup and royal blue were long and languid but toughened up with knotted hardware detailing. For day, dresses came in washed or parachute silk, paired with light-weight billowing parkas, or tiered and pleated in pastel check silk. For after-hours, organza numbers featured floral embroidery and lace cut-outs. As always, Stella draws a crowd: Salma Hayek, Rachel Zoe and Coco Rocha were just some of the A-listers in attendance, while on the catwalk it was all about today's supers: Joan Smalls, Sam Rollinson and Cara Delevingne.
