Temperley London SS15
"Now is a time of evolution at Temperley London," revealed creative director Alice Temperley at her Spring/Summer 2015 show, referencing the merging of her mainline collection with her diffusion line, Alice by Temperley. The result was a shift away from the beaded evening gowns she has become synonymous with and a greater focus on a full day-to-evening offer. Translation: daywear became luxe and eveningwear turned sporty. Tailoring was the cornerstone of the collection, with languid suits and draped knitwear teamed with lace and jacquard accents for a fresh twist on layering. With check and stripe prints inspired by woodblock patterns and a colour palette borrowed from Japanese Shunga ink paintings, it was certainly an edgier aesthetic than that of seasons past. After-hours attire came in the form of slashed gowns worn with breezy scarves and box-fresh white trainers.
Who we saw: Jacquetta Wheeler
