The Row SS15
"In a season of prints and florals it was a clean, pure departure offering easy, flowing silhouettes. The neutral, golden colour palette was elegant and understated."
Helen David, Harrods Fashion Director of Womenswear
Quiet, refined simplicity was the order of the day at The Row, where the Olsen twins hosted their Spring/Summer 2015 show in a sun-drenched loft in Manhattan's Soho. Opening the show was a parade of gold woven coats and kaftan dresses in basket-weave linen in long and languid shapes. From there bronze-coloured midi skirts teamed with sheer blouses or shell tops took over, featuring knotted sashes that either cinched in waists or added drama to the backs of otherwise simple tunics. Monochrome is always going to feature heavily in the Olsen's collections, considering they themselves dress primarily in black or white, and this season it came in the form of stiff strapless gowns made from honan silk and crisp poplin cotton shirts teamed with conical-shaped canvas skirts. Accessories remained pared back, with suede flat sandals accompanying every look and just a smattering of satchels strapped across the models' bodies. The shiny hair, barely-there make-up and nude nails added to the exquisite simplicity of the collection.
Who we saw: The Olsen twins
What they wore: All-black polo neck, cigarette trousers and courts for Ashley and a cream blouse, black jeans and suede flat boots for Mary-Kate
In a nutshell: Less is much, much more
