Victoria Beckham SS15
Utility isn't normally a word one would associate with the Victoria Beckham aesthetic but the designer explained that this season she wanted to redefine her signature look with "an eclectic uniform in the form of an exact yet wearable wardrobe." A parade of starchy linen tunics, vests and day coats in neutral shades and adorned with partially concealed buckle belts and oversized pockets did just that. From there, summer knits took centre stage, with ribbed dresses cut out at the shoulders, stretchy tube skirts and chunky jumpers with whip-stitched sleeves in a crisp monochrome palette. Bringing up the rear was a series of pink and yellow floral-splashed midi skirts and tunics teamed with basic neutrals. Bags were boxy and toughened up with thick canvas utility straps. Having previously teamed up with Manolo Blahnik and Walter Steiger on her footwear, this season Beckham designed her own show shoes, parading either chunky black strappy platforms or Western-style flat booties.
