"This was certainly a comeback for Amanda. She does sexy nonchalance perfectly, and Tuesday's show was exactly what we wanted to see."

The lowdown: A sea of satin and chiffon dresses and jumpsuits made their way down the Amanda Wakeley runway for Spring/Summer 2016, in a lustrous palette of black, silver, blue, white and pale pink. Tied effortlessly at the waist with black sashes, each piece was as diaphanous as the next, yet remained simple and elegant. For day, short-sleeved waistcoats were layered over daring low-cut vests and wide-cut trousers, while, for evening, dresses came in an array of styles – halter, spaghetti straps, strapless and with plunging necklines – and floated whimsically down the runway. Each look was paired with flat sliders, while make-up and hair was pared-down and natural – a divine way for Amanda Wakeley to celebrate the label’s 25th birthday.

"This was certainly a comeback for Amanda. She does sexy nonchalance perfectly, and Tuesday's show was exactly what we wanted to see. Cut-off gowns, flowing easily over trousers; this is how we'll be going out at night next season. As for when we're relaxing, there were plenty of beautifully draped tops, maxi dresses and cashmere," said Helen David, Harrods Fashion Director of Womenswear, Women's Shoes, Accessories, Fine Jewellery, and Childrenswear, of the show.

Who we saw: Jodie Kidd

What they wore: Grey, wide-leg trousers and a dark teal blouse
